Ce projet émane d’une initiative de l’express style ayant ouvert une réflexion sur un design accessible à tous : concevoir un objet réalisable à moindre frais et que tout un chacun devait pouvoir mettre en forme.
«paradise» est ainsi une installation composée de plusieurs sphères de polystyrène assemblées entre elles, un nuage inspiré par l’univers enchanteur du cinéaste japonais Miyazaki.
Elle se suspend au plafond ou se pose sur une table et s’éclaire grâce à une source de lumière distincte.
Au-delà de son esthétique, « paradise » démontre la possibilité de réaaliser un objet poétique avec du polystyrène, matériau habituellement perçu comme pauvre et d’aspect ingrat.
Avec le recul, cette initiative amène à redécouvrir le projet “autoprogettazione”, initié par Enzo Mari en 1974, lors d’une exposition organiée a la galleria milano. Il s’agissait de proposer aux particuliers un ensemble de plans et dessins techniques leur permettant de fabriquer eux-mêmes leurs meubles.
« paradise » s’inscrit dans cette démarche d’imaginer une alternative à̀ l’industriel en s’abstenant de toute intervention de fabricants ou d'éditeurs et en instaurant un rapport direct entre le créateur et le destinataire final.

This project originates from an initiative of the l’express style magazine, with the underlying idea being to create an object at lower cost that everyone would be able to create; in short, a design accessible to all.
«paradise» is an installation composed of several interlocking polystyrene spheres, like a cloud inspired by the enchanting universe of the japanese filmmaker Miyazaki.
The assembly can be hung from the ceiling or placed on a table. its special glow stems from a unique light source. The benefit of such an exercise is to propose producing a poetic object made of polystyrene, a material routinely maligned. with greater perspective, this initiative leads to rediscovering the «autoprogettazione» project initiated by enzo mari in 1974, at an exhibition organized at milan’s galleria.
The impetus was to provide individuals with a full set of drawings and technical specifications for them to build their own furniture.
The idea here again is to conceive an alternative to the industrial manufacturing model, by removing from the loop input from manufacturers and publishers while introducing a direct relationship between creator and end user.
